Impulse Sealers

Hand Sealers
Foot Pedal Sealers

Impulse sealers typically use heated bars to seal packaging materials. The operator loads the package, bag or material so that the intended seal location will be in contact with the bars when they are closed together. The two bars are then brought together and the packaging material is sealed. These machines frequently incorporate a timer so that the the bars are held together only until the seal is made, or the machine will notify the operator when the seal is completed

Impulse sealers are the most commonly available type of sealer and consequently come in many shapes and sizes. The length of the bars also vary, sizes start at only a couple of inches and span to several feet. The bar size is not usually variable so if purchasing an impulse sealer make sure that it is large enough to accommodate your packaging.

Impulse sealers are ideal for low volume packaging requirements or for custom packing. They are also perfect for applications which require that the seal is not at the end or close to the end of the material. Continuous sealers usually mount the belts close to the chassis of the machine and are therefore not as suitable for mid material sealing.

Hand Sealers

Hand sealers are typically impulse sealers which are operated by the user pushing the top sealing bar into contact with the material using his or her hand. These are typically smaller and lower capacity than the larger foot operated types.

Foot sealers are typically impulse sealers which are operated by the user pushing the top sealing bar into contact with the material by operating a foot pedal. These are typically larger and designed for higher capacity than the smaller hand operated types.

Similarly to other impulse sealers, foot operated sealers usually feature a timer so that the operator can set the sealer to apply the bars for the appropriate time required to seal different materials.

Foot sealers come with different length sealing bars. Foot operated heat sealers are also available with shelves to support heavier bags of product while the operator is performing the sealing operation.
